Redmi Pad |
After dominating the mid-range mobile market with the Redmi product line, Xiaomi also gave wings by launching the Redmi Pad tablet. The first tablet in the Redmi series is designed to be an all-in-one entertainment device.
Just like other Redmi devices, the Redmi Pad is priced at an affordable price but comes with specifications that cannot be underestimated. How does this Rp 3 million tablet work? Here's a full review of the Redmi Pad. Design
The first impression when holding the Redmi Pad is the design that feels and looks premium. Redmi Pad comes with an aluminum body that makes it physically sturdy.

The four sides are flat with curved corners, making it very comfortable to hold for watching videos for a long time. The detikINET newsroom variant is Moonlight Silver with an aluminum-style silver gray back and a matte finish that makes it non-slip to hold.
The Redmi Pad weighs 445 grams, quite light for a tablet measuring more than 10 inches. It is slightly thinner than some competitors like the Nokia T21 and Realme Pad Mini as it has a thickness of 7.05mm.
The rear panel is filled with a rear camera positioned in the upper right corner (if the tablet is held in landscape position). While at the bottom there is the Redmi logo.
Xiaomi has embedded the power button on the left edge of the tablet (if held in landscape position) while the volume buttons are on top. Not far from the volume button is the microSD card slot. Remember the Redmi Pad only supports Wi-Fi networks so there is no SIM card slot.
On the right is the USB-C port. The tablet also features four Dolby Atmos-powered speakers, two on the left and two on the right.
Screen and sound
The Redmi Pad uses a 10.61-inch IPS panel for its display. This monitor has an aspect ratio of 5:
3 aspect ratio with a resolution of 1200 x 2000 pixels (2K). The display also supports a 90Hz refresh rate, which makes browsing and scrolling through social media smoother.
Admittedly, the bezels around the screen are not as thin as a flagship tablet, but they are not too thick either. This is actually beneficial because the edges of the screen can be a resting place for your fingers when holding the screen with one hand, so you don't have to worry about touching the screen from the wrong direction.
The screen capacity is quite satisfactory, although when browsing the web and watching videos outdoors, the visibility is still quite high.
The Redmi Pad is designed as a tablet for home entertainment, of course the streaming capability of the screen is not high. The tablet can be used to watch YouTube videos up to 1440p. Moreover, the tablet is also Widevine L1 certified so it can be used to watch FullHD videos on Netflix.
Sound quality is also satisfactory thanks to the four built-in speakers, two on the left and two on the right. Stereo sound is loud enough without turning up the volume too high, and even when listening to music, details can be heard.
The audio on the Redmi Pad is also equipped with the Dolby Atmos system, where users are free to set presets and equalizers as desired. This Dolby Atmos will work through the tablet's speakers or headphones, but only for video content.
Performance and battery
Xiaomi equips the Redmi Pad with the MediaTek Helio G99 chipset. This processor is paired with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal memory.
Thanks to the RAM expansion function, the RAM capacity can be increased from a total of 2 GB to 8 GB, Xiaomi also has a microSD card slot available for up to 1 TB, which is not bad for storing thousands of memes and videos. With such a large brain, the performance of the Redmi Pad is more than enough, especially if it is just to access entertainment such as watching videos or listening to music. Multitasking and switching apps can also be done smoothly.
